The lenses of science and theology

My mission is to help people live life to the fullest, and the only way I believe that can be done is by living as Wise Christians. I think science and biblical theology are two essential lenses for living the good life.

As a physician and theology teacher, I’m always asking, how can I help us live better and more meaningful lives? Unlike some, I see science and theology as two very compatible branches of learning that together help us live meaningful and fulfilling lives. I also believe that only as wise Christians can we live life well, in this world and the one to come.

In my writing, I seek to look at every subject through two complementary lenses: 1) The lens of science, and 2) The lens of theology. Unfortunately, for much of my adult life, I felt externally pressured by the status quo to either write as a secular scientist or as a theologian but not both. Even though I love science and I love Christian theology, and together these two reflect who I am at the core, I felt conflicted and unsatisfied because I wasn’t able to share my true self and let my entire light shine and illumine the lives of others. Thankfully, I’m glad that I’ve come out of my closet.

Habits, Decision-Making, Productivity, etc

I write mostly on habits in general (how to create good habits and break bad ones), but I also research and write about decision-making, productivity, emotional health, happiness, general health, and weight loss.

I believe habits make us the people we become. Success in life depends on both things within our control and many things outside our control. For the things within our control, I think habits are essential for success. Even when God wants to transform a person, he teaches them new habits.

Habits changed my life and took me from a poor hopeless boy in a remote African village to where I am today (living my dreams as a physician, raising a beautiful family, and contributing to serve others). I research them, practice them, and teach them to my patients, students, and anyone willing to learn with me. I am always learning and believe God still has a long way to take me, and for that, my habits and character need to keep growing. I write about creating better habits and breaking bad ones in every area of life: Work, Personal life, Spiritual, Physical, Mental, Social, etc.
